Diamond A Farm, owned and operated by Ken and Dawn Austin, is located in Climax, North Carolina. Diamond A has been breeding and showing top quality Appaloosa horses since 1989.The Austin’s interest in showing started with halter classes but soon expanded to include the entire family, son Jason and daughter Kasey, and classes ranging from English and Western Pleasure to Jumping and Games classes.

With the growth of interest, the farm expanded to a complete facility including two arenas, an 18 stall barn, and the acquisition of many new horses. These horses included many multiple World and National Champions such as, What’s Your Pleasure, K-Bars Dreamer, Zippo’s Cover Girl, The Diamond Finder, and DZ’s Pretending Doll.)

Diamond A has also developed an extensive breeding program that has resulted in many successful offsprings. The Diamond Finder, raised and shown by Ken, was a World Champion Stallion. Lace and Diamonds, also raised and shown by Ken, was the 2004 World Champion Non-Pro Two-year-old Mare.

The breeding program now includes, The Diamond Maker, a 1997 stallion raised by Ken and Dawn and shown in Western Pleasure. “Choco” has already produced two foal crops which show great potential. This outstanding stallion is a son of Chips Hot Chocolate (AQHA). The program also includes World Champion broodmares.
